A complete springtail culture, aged 7-14 days, started on clay and packaged in an 8-ounce sealed container.

One highly populated culture is suitable for up to a 20-gallon enclosure.

Springtails (Collembola sp.) are tiny arthropods that serve many purposes when used as "Bioactive Tank Cleaners," aiding in breaking down and processing sheds, decaying plant matter, mold, and waste. Springtails can also be a great source of supplemental food for tiny neonatal lizards, dart frogs, and other forest floor-dwelling animals.

After adding your Bio Dude culture to your bioactive terrarium, these springtails will readily reproduce and create a sustainable population in the terrarium. If you decide to keep them in the container so you can continually pull from monthly or weekly, be sure to feed Bio Dude's Springtail Grub on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.

When kept in their container, they can quickly double their population every 3-4 weeks. As long as you keep the culture from drying out with a simple weekly misting and keep them fed by replacing a small amount of food when they have eaten all of theirs, this culture is able to reproduce for months!

These springtails will thrive in all of the Bio Dude's substrates, but are better adapted for life in more arid conditions, these will make a great springtail for Terra Sahara, Terra Aranea, and Terra Firma enclosures.
