Welcome to The Bio Dude!
A complete self-cleaning, self-maintaining bioactive terrarium kit for Panther Chameleons. These beautiful lizards can be more of a challenge to keep and require a varied diet, strict lighting requirements (like most chameleons) and are divided into localities, which each has their own unique traits and color. This bioactive kit is meant to be utilized with custom screen cages that allow for a substrate barrier at least 6" - 8" high. This can be utilized by simply adding the Terra Firma to the Dude's Chameleon Pouch which is included. The extra AAA Spag is great for filling up the corners to prevent insects from going down the sides. The bioactive kits do not include the enclosure, clean up crews, or any heating or UVB elements you will need for your pet!
Panther Chameleons are from various regions of Madagascar. These beautiful lizards are very strong, and sturdy Tree's are required for this species. Plenty of foliage, places to climb, places to bask and absorb UVB are a must for this species. A large piece(s) of ghostwood is included in this kit to give your chameleon something to climb on as well giving you the ability to mount bromeliads in your bioactive enclosure. Bromeliads or tropical plants are a great addition as they hold water, and create makeshift, natural water foraging areas for your chameleons. Foggers and daily misting, or a Mist King are highly recommended for your chameleon as well. The Terra Firma is excellent for retaining the necessary air pockets for your substrate to drain while allowing your trees to grow. The Firma is excellent for egg laying chameleons. If you provide a deep layer of Firma, it will retain all tunnels and burrows that your gravid female chameleons will lay, this will help prevent egg binding as well as their overall lifespan.
Please note: Due to the varying inexact sizes of these pouches there may be a 1"-2" gap around the entire perimeter of the cage.
