Although this is heat treated, we recommend washing and baking/boiling this product prior to using! There is always a chance a hitchhiker could come in on a piece of wood such as ants and spiders, so baking at 125-200 degrees for 35-45 will help kill any possible critters that might be on the wood.

Cork tubes are great for making vivarium/terrarium backgrounds or hiding caves.
