Scolopendra gigantea 'Falcon' ex Gold Gigantea – Amazonian Giant Centipede | Live Arrival Guarantee | TDE

Scolopendra gigantea 'Falcon' ex Gold Gigantea, commonly known as the Amazonian Giant Centipede, is a huge South American species with an unmistakable presence. The 'Falcon' color form, previously offered as Gold Gigantea, provides a different look from the 'Black' form of the same species.

A Giant for the Collection:
Its long, powerful body and coordinated movement make even a brief appearance from beneath its hide memorable. For experienced collectors exploring different color forms of Scolopendra gigantea, 'Falcon' offers another expression of this impressive giant.

Reproductive Behavior:
Matriphagy occurs in this species, a behavior in which offspring consume their mother. This is a notable consideration for experienced keepers interested in breeding and reproductive behavior.

Temperament & Safety:
This is a fast, venomous animal for experienced keepers only. A bite can cause severe pain and may require medical attention. Do not handle. Careful enclosure design and a planned, no-contact approach to feeding and maintenance are essential.

Habitat Requirements:

• A spacious, escape-resistant enclosure with a securely locking lid
• Deep, moisture-retentive substrate for digging and sheltering
• Good ventilation and a moisture gradient without waterlogged conditions
• Secure hides and an accessible water dish
• Keep decor well below the lid and check every opening for potential escape routes
