    • Keeper level: Leopard geckos are great for beginners. They can live up to 15-20 years with proper care.
    • Temperament: Docile, hardy, good for handling.
    • Physical appearance: California kingsnakes have a sleek, slender body with smooth, glossy scales, an oval head, round pupils, and a striking pattern of broad alternating black and white bands, with other color variations also occurring.
    • Biological niche: Primarily crepuscular (sometimes displaying nocturnal tendencies), and terrestrial, they enjoy occupying rocky crevasses and other hiding spots.
    • Native Range: Native to dry forests of the Middle East to western Asia.
    • Kept as individuals only. Leopard Geckos should always be housed alone. They are territorial and conflict will arise regardless of sex.

    Humidity

    • Maintain ambient humidity between 30–40%.
    • Provide a humid hide with 70–80% humidity at all times to support healthy sheds.
    • Lightly moisten the humid hide as needed while keeping the rest of the enclosure relatively dry to maintain natural humidity gradients.

    Diet

    • Leopard geckos are insectivores and should be fed a varied diet of appropriately sized, gut-loaded insects such as crickets, roaches, and other soft-bodied feeders.
    • Feeder insects should never be wider than the space between your gecko's eyes.
    • Dust feeders regularly with Repashy Calcium Plus and feed them a quality gut load, such as Bio Dude Bug Grub, before offering them to your gecko.
