This tropical plant has unique foliage that resembles an elongated heart-shape, but can also contain asymmetrical shapes, or, in some cases, holes and striations.

Small and medium sized reptiles and amphibians from tropical and temperate climate zones, particularly tree frogs.

Prefers high humidity (60% – 80%), but can take higher levels.

Can get up to several feet in height (though it can be trimmed and selectively pruned), and the leaves can get over a foot in length. It does best as a sprawling groundcover, a climbing vine, or placed next to a water feature.

Edible & Side Effects if Ingested:

Philodendrons and monsteras are members of the family Araceae, so they contain low levels of oxalic acid and sharp calcium oxalate crystals known as raphides.
Ingestion may cause oral irritation, but philodendrons and monsteras are not commonly consumed by reptiles or amphibians.
Always monitor new plants for pesticide residues before adding to enclosures (rinse thoroughly or propagate from clean cuttings).
