Soil Depth: All soil depths with proper drainage.
Lighting: Low to medium, or bright indirect light. Avoid placing directly beneath a heat or basking lamp, as excessive heat or intense light may result in burnt or faded leaves.
Humidity & Misting: 50%-100%, with higher humidity levels suggested for optimal growth. Prefers consistently moist, but not waterlogged, substrate. Higher humidity will help prevent browning or crisping along the edges of the leaves.
Mature Plant Size & Root System: This beautiful tropical plant can reach approximately 1-2 feet tall and wide when mature. Beauty Star develops an upright, clumping growth habit with long, narrow leaves featuring dark green coloration with bright green, cream, and pink striping. Like other prayer plants, the foliage can move throughout the day in response to its natural circadian rhythm. It develops a relatively shallow, fibrous and rhizomatous root system.
Temperature Tolerance & Placement in the Terrarium: Prefers temperatures between approximately 60-80 degrees Fahrenheit. Excessive temperatures combined with low humidity may cause the leaves to brown or curl. Best used as a front or mid-ground specimen when young, or as a background planting once mature.
Edible & Side Effects if Ingested: Non-toxic if consumed, though these are typically used for ornamental, not edible, purposes.
