Mature Plant Size & Root System: This agave will form a robust "head" of strap-like leaves, tipped with tiny spines. Can get large with age but is slow growing. It has a shallow, wide fibrous root system for anchorage.
Temperature Tolerance & Placement in the Terrarium: High temperature tolerance & drought tolerant. Best used as a front (low) or corner placement.
Edible & Side Effects if Ingested: Agave are easily eaten and ripped to shreds by your animals. This agave can last much longer to your most destructive of herbivores. These agaves have thicker grasslike spikes that do not break easily; great for encouraging your animal to work for it! Non-toxic if consumed. When ingested, succulents help re-hydrate your pet as well as provide enrichment for your animals by allowing them to instinctively forage for food.
