Welcome to The Bio Dude!
*Plant pictured is a representation of what you will receive.
Common Names: Thai Constellation Monstera, Variegated Monstera
Scientific Name: Monstera deliciosa 'Thai Constellation'
This unique and highly sought after variety has the same growth habits as a regular Monstera deliciosa, but with splotches of light green, yellow, and sometimes white, that make it seem as if you're gazing at a starfield placed upon a leaf!
It is a fast growing bushy plant which will form vines that will creep and climb wherever it can! If allowed to climb, the leaves will get larger as they mature. Vigorous root system will burrow deep and/or form aerial roots to cling to surfaces in high humidity environments.
Can reach up to 3ft tall and wide, occasionally larger, while reaching up for a light source and then, as it gets taller, toppling over to root along the ground, or in water.
-Care Recommendations By The Dude-
Best for These Animals:
Frogs and amphibians, tropical lizards, and small to moderate-sized snakes from tropical or humid climates.
Bio Dude Substrates:
The Bio Dude's Terra Flora (for tropical or rainforest setups)
The Bio Dude's Terra Fauna (for slightly drier but still humid forest environments)
The Bio Dude's Terra Firma (for temperate terrestrial environments with only occasional humidity spikes)
Soil Depth:
Moderate to deep soil; can climb and root up wood.
Lighting:
All light levels (or low-level full-spectrum LED/UVB terrarium lighting). Prefers indirect light.
Avoid placing directly under intense heat lamps — leaves can scorch easily.
Humidity & Misting:
Prefers moderate humidity (50% – 60%), but can take higher. Root system can grow in water features.
Ensure good air circulation to prevent mold.
Temperature Tolerance & Placement in the Terrarium:
Ideal range: 70–80°F (21.1–26.7°C), but can take between 65 and 85 degrees.
Avoid prolonged exposure below 60°F (15°C).
Edible & Side Effects if Ingested:
Monstera are members of the family Araceae, so they contain low levels of oxalic acid and sharp calcium oxalate crystals known as raphides.
Ingestion is not recommended and may cause oral irritation. However, reptiles and amphibians do not typically eat them.
Pot Size & Packaging: A single 4" potted monstera plant is shipped in the pot, wrapped in paper.
