Just as durable as the regular schefflera bush, but with a more oblong, narrow canopy resembling a small mountain peak (hence the name, "alpine")!

Best for These Animals: Small to medium-sized reptiles and amphibians, including arboreal (tree-dwelling) species.

Humidity & Misting: 40%-100%, can tolerate 20%-40%, but higher humidity is suggested for optimal growth.
Mature Plant Size & Root System: Schefflera are very hardy, durable tropical shrubs that can get very large if not pruned to maintain desired shape. With age, it can develop a woody trunk. It has a wide, shallow fibrous root system with thick roots forming for anchorage with age.
Temperature Tolerance & Placement in the Terrarium: Somewhat drought tolerant. Too high temperatures or low humidity may cause leaves to brown. Best used as a back/wall planting; corner placement recommended.
Edible & Side Effects if Ingested: Scheffleras contain sharp calcium oxalate crystals known as raphides. Ingestion is not recommended and may cause oral irritation, however, reptiles and amphibians do not typically ingest them.
